Finns beats Canada 5-4 in SO to win bronze at world under-18 hockey championship @NHLdotcom

FARGO, N.D. - Toni Rajala scored twice in regulation and added the shootout winner as Finland beat Canada 5-4 in the bronze medal game at the world under-18 hockey championship.

Goalie Joni Ortio stood tall in the Finnish net, stopping John McFarland and Ryan O'Reilly in the shoot out to secure the win.

Canada led 4-1 with just over two minutes remaining in the second period before Finland tied it with three straight goals to force overtime.

Rajala drew the Finns with 1:20 remaining in the second off a Canadian miscue to make the score.

Joni Karjalainen brought Finland to within one 4:35 into the third, before Rajala scored his second of the night to tie the game at four with just over 12 minutes to go.

The teams battled though a 10-minute overtime period before deciding it in the the shootout.
