The National Hockey League (NHL), the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA) and Scotiabank have revealed the 10 finalists for the first-ever fan-driven NHL Award for the player who was voted the best overall regular season performer.

The Scotiabank/NHL FAN FAV Award will be presented at the 2009 NHL Awards which will broadcast live from the Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Hotel Las Vegas on June 18, 2009. Airing on CBC in Canada and VERSUS in the United States, the 2009 NHL Awards will bring together the League's best players, celebrities and other NHL VIPs in celebration of the season's brightest stars.

Throughout the season, NHL fans had the opportunity to vote for the player who demonstrated the best skills and strongest overall performance during that week. All of the weekly Scotiabank/NHL FAN FAV Award nominees from the regular season were evaluated by a panel of NHL experts to narrow the list.
The voting to select the overall Scotiabank/NHL FAN FAV Award winner is back in the hands of the fans. Fans can vote on NHL.com at http://www.fanfav-nhl.com
through April 24. When the Stanley Cup™ Playoffs are over, the votes will be announced and one lucky Canadian fan will win a trip for two to the 2009 NHL Awards™ in Las Vegas where the winner will make hockey history by presenting the Scotiabank/NHL FAN FAV Award at the 2009 NHL Awards show.
