EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips put themselves in position to claim the WHL's U.S. Division title and the Western Conference's top seed to the playoffs by beating the Chilliwack Bruins 5-0 in Western Hockey League action Saturday night.

Shane Harper scored twice for Everett (46-20-5), while Chris Langkow had a goal and three assists. Zack Dailey and Byron Froese also tallied for the Silvertips. Thomas Heemskerk made 25 saves in goal for his fourth shutout of the season.

Braden Gamble stopped 34 shots in goal for Chilliwack (32-33-7), which enters the playoffs at the eighth seed from the Western Conference.

Everett's victory, coupled with Tri-City's 5-4 loss to Spokane, means the Silvertips and Americans are tied atop the division and conference. Tri-City's season is already complete, while Everett travels to Spokane Sunday. The Americans hold the tiebreaker.
