Everett scores three third-period goals to edge Red Deer 3-1 @NHLdotcom

RED DEER, Alta. - The Everett Silvertips scored three unanswered third-period goals in a 3-1 victory over the Red Deer Rebels in Western Hockey League action Friday night.

Trailing 1-0 after two periods, the Silvertips pulled even when defenceman Taylor Ellington notched a power-play goal 1:28 into the final frame. Kyle Beach scored the winner for Everett (9-7-0-0) 11 minutes later and Lukas Vartovnik added an empty-net goal with seven seconds remaining.

Landon Ferraro, on a second-period power play, scored the lone goal for Red Deer (4-13-3-0).

Silvertips goaltender Shayne Barrie faced only 13 shots, while Rebels netminder James Reimer made 22 saves.
