Edmonton Thunder claims bronze medal with win at Esso Cup hockey event

REGINA - Kirsten Reeves had two goals as the Edmonton Thunder defeated the Regina Rebels 5-1 to capture the bronze medal at the Esso Cup women's hockey tournament Saturday.

Arden Cowley, Caitlin Connell and Jessica Sekulic also scored for the Thunder. Emma Cooley stopped 18 shots in goal.

Brittany MacDougall had the lone goal for the Rebels. Goaltender Samantha Langford turned aside 32 shots.

The Notre Dame Hounds take on the Thunder Bay Queens in the tournament final later Saturday.
