TORONTO - Goaltender Rob Madore stopped 23 shots as the Toronto Marlies downed the visiting Manitoba Moose 3-1 on Saturday in American Hockey League action.
Madore was making his first start with Toronto after being called up from the ECHL's Orlando Solar Bears on Friday. He was given the chance to play because Jonathan Bernier is expected to make his second start since being loaned from the Maple Leafs on a conditioning assignment on Sunday in a rematch against Manitoba.
Stuart Percy, Zach Hyman and Richard Panik supplied the offence for the Marlies (17-5-1).
John Albert spoiled Madore's shutout bid when he scored at 16:19 of the third period for the Moose (5-13-2).
Eric Comrie kicked out 33-of-35 shots in a losing cause.
Toronto went 0 for 2 on the power play while Manitoba failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.
