HOUSTON - Dustin Sylvester scored the lone goal in the shootout as the Abbotsford Heat shut out the Houston Aeros 1-0 in American Hockey League play Sunday.
Sylvester beat Houston goaltender Matt Hackett on Abbotsford's fourth attempt, while Leland Irving stoned five Aeros shooters.
The game started with a chippy first period that featured 12 penalties handed out between both teams.
Yet neither team was able to capitalize, with Abbotsford (13-5-1) blanking on four power plays while Houston (10-3-5) couldn't score on seven tries.
Irving earned the win with 34 saves, while Hackett stopped 23 shots.
