It's possible Koivu could return on the trip, which has games remaining against the Philadelphia Flyers, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres and New York Rangers, if it's determined Koivu has no concussion symptoms.

Koivu left a 4-3 win Sunday at Nationwide Arena against the Columbus Blue Jackets with 35 seconds left in the second period after a hit by Brandon Dubinsky, who received an interference major and game misconduct.

Goaltender Viktor Fasth was also sent home to see the team's physical therapists and may return in the next several days. Fasth is batting a lower-body injury that has kept him out since Oct. 16.

The Ducks have recalled forward Rickard Rakell, their first-round pick (No. 30) in the 2011 NHL Draft. Rakell played four games with the Ducks in the 2012-13 season.

They could also get forwards Dustin Penner and Mathieu Perreault back Tuesday against the Flyers after both practiced Monday. Penner suffered a mild concussion Oct. 20 against the Dallas Stars and hasn't played since, while Perreault missed Sunday's game against the Blue Jackets with a sprained wrist.
