Ducks' Kunitz likely out for playoffs with broken bone in right hand @NHL

ANAHEIM, Calif. (CP) - Ducks forward Chris Kunitz will undergo surgery Wednesday to repair a broken bone in his right hand, likely knocking him out for the remainder of the post-season.

The team made the annoucement Monday, one day after beating the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 to even the Western Conference final at a game apiece.

Kunitz was injured late in the third period of Detroit's 2-1 win over Anaheim in Friday's series opener, and was a scratch for Game 2.

The 27-year-old left-winger had one goal and five assists in 11 post-season games for the Ducks, after posting career highs in goals (25) and points (60) during the regular season.
