Dowling scores game-winner as unbeaten Broncos down Rebels 3-2

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Justin Dowling scored the game winner with 3:14 left in regulation to complete a Swift Current Broncos come-from-behind 3-2 win over the visiting Red Deer Rebels in Western Hockey League action Wednesday.

Swift Current has started the year with five consecutive wins, and is first in the East Division. Red Deer opened a 2-1 first period lead on the strength of two power-play goals from Willie Coetzee.

Keegan Dansereau scored his team-leading fourth goal to open the scoring for the Broncos, while Matt Tassone added a second period powerplay marker to tie the game at 2-2.

Swift Current netminder Mark Guggenberger posted his third win of the season by turning aside 32 of 34 shots. Red Deer goaltender Morgan Clark suffered his first regulation loss of the campaign after yielding three goals on 33 shots.

Red Deer scored twice in eight power-play chances, while Swift Current was 1-for-3 with the man advantage.

With the loss, Red Deer drops to third in the Central Division at 3-1-0-1.
