BRANDON, Man. - Jacob De Serres earned his first shutout as a member of the Brandon Wheat Kings in a 4-0 Western Hockey League victory over the Kootenay Ice on Friday night.

Aaron Lewadniuk, Scott Glennie, Alexander Urbom and Brayden Schenn scored for the Eastern Conference-leading Wheat Kings (37-16-3).

Todd Mathews made 28 saves for Kootenay (34-17-4).

De Serres, acquired in October from the Seattle Thunderbirds, faced only 16 shots, but came up with some spectacular saves in the second period, including a stop on Ice forward Joe Antilla on a 2-0 Ice breakaway.
