Del Zotto scores pair as Knights end season with 6-1 win over Greyhounds @NHLdotcom

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. - The London Knights didn't need John Tavares to help them close out their season on a winning note.

Michael Del Zotto scored twice as the Knights defeated the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 6-1 on Saturday night in the Ontario Hockey League.

Tavares, who broke the record for career OHL goals last Sunday, did not play in London's final game of the season, opting to focus on the Knights' first-round playoff match-up against the Erie Otters, which begins in London on Friday. London also rested goalie Trevor Cann, who shut out the Saginaw Spirit on Friday.

Jared Knight had a goal and two assists for the Knights (49-16-1-2), while Leigh Salters, Zac Rinaldo and Jason Wilson also scored.

Kyle DeCoste had the lone marker for Sault Ste. Marie (19-45-2-2).

Stephen Heming made 20 saves for London. Greyhounds netminder Cody St. Jacques stopped 34 shots.
