Darren Archibald leads Wolves past Bulldogs 4-3; Hamilton's late rally falters @NHLdotcom

CHICAGO - Darren Archibald had back-to-back goals as the Chicago Wolves held on for a 4-3 victory over the Hamilton Bulldogs on Thursday in American Hockey League action.

Peter Andersson's goal nearly seven minutes into the third period stood as the winner for Chicago (11-9-3). Captain Darren Haydar scored and added an assist for the Vancouver Canucks' farm club.

"We did a lot of things well tonight and were able to hold off a late charge with a solid penalty kill," said Wolves head coach Scott Arniel. "It was a big win for us and you never can criticize a win."

Joonas Nattinen, Michael Bournival and Nathan Beaulieu scored in the third period to bring Hamilton (9-11-2) to within one.

Matt Climie made 34 saves to earn the win for the Wolves, while Cedrick Desjardins stopped 21 shots for the Bulldogs.

Chicago went 1 for 4 on the power play, while Hamilton was 1 for 7 with the extra man.
