EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) -Veteran defenseman Jason Strudwick is returning to the Edmonton Oilers on a one-year deal.
The 34-year-old had six assists in 72 games for the Oilers last year, his second with his hometown team.
He has 13 goals and 53 points in 631 career games with the Islanders, Rangers, Vancouver, Chicago and Edmonton.
Also Friday, the Oilers signed free-agent defenseman Richard Petiot to a one-year deal.
The 27-year-old spent all of last season with the AHL's Rockford IceHogs.
