Crooks and Sundher score eight points to lead the Royals over the Hurricanes 8-5

VICTORIA - Jamie Crooks scored three times and set up another as the Victoria Royals defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 8-5 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.

Kevin Sundher had two goals and two assists for Victoria (13-18-2) as Brandon Magee and Zane Jones had a goal and an assist each. Steven Hodges chipped in with a single goal.

Jay Merkley led Lethbridge (10-22-1) with a goal and an assist while Juraj Bezuch, Brody Sutter, Jaimen Yakubowski and Brady Ramsay each scored once.

Keith Hamilton made 26 saves for the win as Liam Liston allowed 7 goals on 23 shots before being replaced by Damien Ketlo in the third. Ketlo allowed one goal on three shots.

The Royals went 1-for-3 on the power play while the Hurricanes scored once on seven opportunities with the man advantage.
