Cousins leads Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in 6-1 rout of Windsor Spitfires

SAULT STE MARIE, Ont. - Nick Cousins scored a pair of goals to lead the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds to a 6-1 victory over the Windsor Spitfires in Ontario Hockey League play Friday.

Andrew Fritsch, Joe Rogalski, Colin Miller and Carson Dubchak rounded out the Greyhounds' (2-1-0) attack. Brett Findlay and Ryan Sproul each set up three goals.

Kerby Rychel scored the lone goal for the Spitfires (2-3-0).

Sault Ste. Marie scored three times on the power play in the win, including both goals by Cousins and Fritsch's third-period goal.

Greyhounds coach Mike Stapleton called the power play's success a huge lift following the win.

Goaltender Matt Murray stopped 19 shots in the win and is expected to get the start in Sault Ste. Marie's game on Saturday night at home against the Kitchener Rangers.

Windsor goaltender John Cullen stopped 20 shots in the loss. The Spitfires are back in action on Sunday afternoon when they host the Ottawa 67's.
