Colts sweep Battalion, remain unbeaten after eight games in OHL playoffs @NHLdotcom

BRAMPTON, Ont. - The Barrie Colts are still perfect in Ontario Hockey League post-season play.

Stefan Della Rovere scored twice and added an assist Wednesday as the Colts completed a four-game sweep with a 5-2 win over the Brampton Battalion in their Eastern Conference semifinal series.

The Colts are 8-0 in the playoffs following an opening-round sweep of the Sudbury Wolves.

Darren Archibald opened the scoring for Barrie, beating Patrick Killeen at 5:56 of the first period.

Sean Jones tied the game for the Battalion at 8:00 of the first, sending both teams to the locker room tied at a goal apiece after 20 minutes.

Bryan Cameron put the Colts back in front 48 seconds into the second period with a power-play goal before Colin Behenna made it 3-1 just over three minutes later.

Della Rovere rounded out the scoring in the second period at 9:58, giving Barrie a comfortable 4-1 lead after 40 minutes.

Dominic Alberga curbed the deficit to 4-2 at 2:01 of the third before Della Rovere rounded out the scoring with his second goal of the night at 7:47.

Killeen stopped 19 of 24 shots while Barrie's Mavric Parks turned aside 27 of the 29 shots sent his way.

The Colts will play the winner of the Mississauga-Ottawa series in the Eastern Conference final. That series is tied at two games apiece with a pivotal Game 5 Thursday in Ottawa.
