REGINA - Colton Grant scored two goals to lead the Medicine Hat Tigers to a 5-2 victory over the Regina Pats in the WHL Tuesday night.
The win improves Medicine Hat's record to (30-18-5-1) while the loss marks Regina's (33-18-3-2) third in a row.
Regina opened the scoring early in the first period and closed it out late in the third, but in between it was all Medicine Hat.
At 2:35 of the first, Regina's Michael MacAngus banged in a rebound for his 16th of the year.
The tigers then answered back with three straight power-play goals. The first came from Grant after he slid in a loose puck during a scramble in front of the net. Thirty seconds later Jerrid Sauer recorded his sixth of the year off another rebound in front.
The last came with just 22 seconds remaining in the period when Sean Ringrose and Bretton Cameron set up a wide open Grant for his second of the game and sixth of the year with a quick wrist shot over Regina goalie Linden Rowat's shoulder.
Medicine Hat went ahead 4-1 at the 5:08 mark of the second after Daine Todd forced a Regina turnover and got the puck over to Ringrose, who slammed it in for his eighth of the year and second point of the night.
Medicne Hat added one more in the third when Yashar Farmanara wired a wrist shot from the top of the circle into the top shelf for his 19th goal of the year.
With just over a minute to go Regina's Jordan Eberle managed to sneak one more past Medicine Hat goalie Tomas Vosvrda but it was only good for Eberle's 33 of the season.
Vosvrda (13-10-2-1) made 30 saves for the win, while Rowat let in five goals on 22 shots for the loss.
