NEW YORK - Colorado Avalanche centre Paul Stastny was named the NHL's first star of the week Monday.
Stastny, who was the runner-up to Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin in the voting for the Calder Trophy last season, led all scorers last week with four goals and four assists.
New York Islanders centre Mike Comrie was the second star after recording four goals and two assists.
Nashville Predators goaltender Chris Mason was the third star. He had two victories, a 0.50 goals-against average, a shutout and a .984 save percentage last week.
