Cizikas scores twice as Carrozzi and the Majors blank the 67's 2-0 @NHL

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Forward Casey Cizikas scored both goals and goaltender Chris Carrozzi registered his first shutout of the season as the Mississauga-St. Michael's Majors blanked the Ottawa 67's 2-0 Sunday afternoon in the Ontario Hockey League.

Cizikas scored an even-strength goal in the first period and a power-play marker in the third, his second two-goal performance of the weekend for the St. Michael's Majors (7-5-0-0). He had a pair of goals in regulation and then notched the winner in a shootout Friday night against Niagara.

Carrozzi, the top netminder in goals-against average (1.76) and save percentage (.942) in the OHL, made 26 saves for the shutout.

"It's not just about me," said Carrozzi, a sixth-round NHL draft pick of the Atlanta Thrashers, "I've got to give a lot of credit to my teammates.

"The defence has helped me out a lot this year. They're keeping the shots down. I don't think I'm seeing as many shots as I did last year."

At the other end, Ottawa goaltender Adam Courchaine stopped 21 shots as the 67's (8-7-0-0) saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.
