MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Rookie Casey Cizikas scored a pair of goals, including one while short-handed, as the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors beat the Owen Sound Attack 5-3 Friday night in the Ontario Hockey League.
Cizikas, Mississauga's first pick in the OHL draft last May, raised his goal total to 12 as the Majors won their third game in a row and 10th in the last 12 games.
His first goal came while the Majors were killing a minor penalty in the first period. His second of the night staked Mississauga to a 4-2 lead late in the second period.
Matt Caria, Jesse Messier and Matt Piva had the other goals for the Majors (17-13-1-0).
Matt Carter, Marcus Carroll and Chris Mackinnon replied for Owen Sound (13-19-2-0). The goals by Carter and Carroll came a little more than 30 seconds apart in the second period and wiped out a 2-0 Majors lead.
Goaltender Chris Carrozzi of the Majors turned aside 30 of 33 shots on the night to register his 13th win of the season. Mississauga had 33 shots at Owen Sound netminder Tyler Beskorowany.
