Chicago celebrates Blackhawks' Stanley Cup win @NHLdotcom

CHICAGO (AP) -The forecast for Chicago calls for ticker tape.

The city is celebrating the Blackhawks' first Stanley Cup win since 1961 with a downtown parade Friday morning.

The event is expected to draw thousands - if not hundreds of thousands - of people, many hoping to catch a glimpse of the team and the Cup.

The Blackhawks ended their NHL championship drought with a game-winning goal in overtime against the Flyers in Philadelphia on Thursday.

Fans have been gearing up for the parade, snapping up championship T-shirts, flags, pins and hats from vendors around the city.

Chicago Mayor Richard Daley says money for the parade is coming from sponsors, not taxpayers.
