OSHAWA, Ont. - Stephen Silas snapped a tie early in the third period and John Chartrand made 29 saves as the Belleville Bulls downed the Oshawa Generals 2-1 in Ontario Hockey League play Friday.

Silas ripped a shot past Generals goalie Dan Altshuller while the teams were playing 4-on-4 for the winner 4:57 into the third.

Bulls (2-2-0) captain Luke Judson opened the scoring 6:55 into the game on a nicely executed 3-on-1 with Simon Gronvaldt and Michael Curtis.

Lucas Lessio tied it up for the Generals (1-2-0) just over two minutes later, banging home rebound after Sebastian Uvira burst down the right side.

Oshawa's Jimmy McDowell and Belleville's Adam Payerl were ejected in the second period for fighting.

Oshawa's Christian Thomas had an excellent chance to tie the game on a late power play, but his quick one-timer was stopped by a brilliant pad save from Chartrand.

Both teams were 0-for-7 with the man advantage.
