SARNIA, Ont. - The Erie Otters dealt centre Brett Thompson to the Sarnia Sting for two draft picks Monday.

Erie received a 2012 third-round pick and 2013 second-round selection in the deal.

Thompson had 24 goals and 21 assists in 36 games with the Otters. Erie obtained Thompson midway through last season from the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, where he had 25 goals and 21 assists in 40 games.

"Anytime you can add a player like Brett to your lineup you have to give it serious consideration," said Sting GM Jacques Beaulieu in a statement.

"He has scored at least 40 goals two straight seasons and has scored over 100 goals in our league. Those players definitely don't just grow on trees."
