Caria of the Plymouth Whalers named Canadian Hockey League player of week @NHL

TORONTO - Matt Caria of the Plymouth Whalers is the Canadian Hockey League's player of the week.

He recorded two goals and eight assists in three games last week. Caria, a 20-year-old from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., has 22 goals and 50 assists in 58 games this season. Tyler Ennis of the Medicine Hat Tigers and Mikhail Stefanovich of the Quebec Remparts were also nominated for the award.

Meanwhile, Adam Brown of the Kelowna Rockets earned goaltender of the week honours after posting a 2-0-0-0 record with a 0.46 goals-against average and a save percentage of .982.

In 27 appearances, Brown has posted a 17-4-0-1 record with two shutouts and a GAA of 2.01.

Nicola Riopel of the Moncton Wildcats and Michael Hutchinson of the Barrie Colts were also considered for the honour.
