Capitals' Ovechkin 'definitely' will play vs. Rangers

by Staff

Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin will be in the lineup Sunday against the New York Rangers (7 p.m. ET; CSN-DC, NHLN, TVA Sports), coach Barry Trotz said Saturday.

Ovechkin left practice early Saturday for precautionary reasons.

"He got a little bit of a tweak," Trotz said. "So we got him off. I'll say he'll definitely be playing tomorrow."

Ovechkin had two goals and two assists in the Capitals' 5-3 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday. His 16 goals and 29 points in 30 games lead the Capitals.
