Canada shares group with Russia, Sweden, Czech Republic and Norway at WJC 2011 @NHLdotcom

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The 2011 world junior hockey championship in Buffalo, N.Y., will see Canada face off against Sweden, Russia, Czech Republic and Norway in the first round.

The tournament will kick off Dec. 26 with an early game between Germany and Switzerland.

Canada will face Russia the same day and the defending champions, the United States, will matchup against Finland.

Canada's final round-robin match is against Sweden on New Year's Eve.

The United States and Finland share a group with Germany, Slovakia and Switzerland.

The tournament runs through Jan. 5, 2011.
