MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Bryan Cameron scored three goals and Mavric Parks posted his second shutout of the season as the Barrie Colts triumphed over the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors 4-0 in the Ontario Hockey League Friday night.
Cameron, a native of Brampton, Ont. who turns 21 on Feb. 25, put the Colts (40-7-1) ahead 1-0 with a power play goal late in the first period. He completed the hat trick with an unassisted marker and another power-play goal less than three minutes apart in the final period to raise his goal total to 36 on the season.
Alexander Burmistrov scored the other goal for the Colts, who won for the 19th time in 25 road games.
"We're a good team over-all," said Cameron after the Colts moved 10 points ahead of the second-place Majors (33-11-5) in the Central Division standings. "We're pretty strong up front and every game, it always seems that different lines step up.
"We knew this game wasn't going to be easy," continued Cameron. "We put in a lot of work and we were able to sneak a few past their goalie."
Parks, acquired by the Colts in a trade with Kitchener on Jan. 11, stopped 23 shots for his first shutout since joining Barrie.
Chris Carrozzi started in goal for the Majors but was lifted early in the third period after Cameron scored his second of the night to put the Colts ahead 3-0. JP Anderson came on in relief of Carrozzi and allowed Cameron's third goal of the game just moments later.
The Colts had 21 shots on goal for the game.
