Bruins LW Sturm leaves with head injury in Boston's game in Buffalo @NHLdotcom

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -Bruins second-leading scorer Marco Sturm was hit in the head with the puck in the first period and didn't return in Boston's game on Monday against the Buffalo Sabres.

Sturm, who has nine goals and 20 points, played four shifts and just over 3 minutes before leaving. After being struck he skated off the ice on his own, but was helped to the Boston locker room by a trainer.

Sturm has played 28 games this season, his third with Boston after being acquired from San Jose in the Joe Thornton trade in Nov. 2005.
