Broncos force Game 6 with 5-2 victory over Calgary Hitmen @NHLdotcom

CALGARY - The Swift Current Broncos erased a two-goal deficit by firing four straight goals in the first period on their way to a 5-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen in WHL playoff action on Friday night.

After Ryan White and Michael Stone gave the Hitmen an early 2-0 lead, Jesse Dudas, Dale Weise, Keegan Dansereau and Levi Nelson replied to give the Broncos a 4-2 lead heading into the first intermission.

Weise added an empty-net goal to finish the game with three points.

Despite the loss, the Hitmen still hold a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference playoff series with Game 6 slated for Saturday night in Swift Current. If necessary, the teams will play a seventh and deciding game in Calgary at the Saddledome on Monday night.

Swift Current goalie Travis Yonkman finished the game with 21 saves, several of the spectacular variety.

After giving up four goals on 12 shots in the first period, Calgary goalie Dan Spence was pulled in favour of Martin Jones, who made 13 saves in two periods of relief action.
