CALGARY - Brett Sonne scored three goals to lead the Calgary Hitmen to a 7-1 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings in Western Hockey League action Tuesday night.
Tomas Karpov and Bostjan Golicic both scored once and set up another for the Hitmen (40-7-2-1), while defencemen Keith Seabrook, Paul Postma and Michael Stone all had three assists each.
Cody Sylvester and Kris Foucault, with his first-ever WHL goal, also scored for the Hitmen, who rebounded from a 5-4 loss to the Chilliwack Bruins at home on Sunday that broke an 18-game home winning streak.
Brent Raedeke scored the lone goal of the game for the Oil Kings (21-23-2-4), who were coming off a convincing 8-1 win over Chilliwack at home in Edmonton on Saturday night.
Hitmen netminder Martin Jones made 14 saves to record his 16th straight win at the Pengrowth Saddledome and league-leading 29th WHL victory. Edmonton goalie Torrie Jung gave up four goals on 18 shots before being relieved by rookie Cam Lanigan, who made 10 stops on 13 shots in a relief appearance.
