Brent Raedeke scores game-winning goal as Oil Kings down Ice 2-1

CRANBROOK, B.C. - Brent Raedeke scored the game winner on a third period power-play as the Edmonton Oil Kings beat the Kootenay Ice 2-1 in Western Hockey League action Sunday.

Edmonton (3-2-1) opened the scoring as Craig McCallum was left alone near the net and converted on a feed from Brenden Dowd.

Dowd leads the WHL in scoring with nine points.

Kootenay tied it late in the second period on a power-play. Andrew Bailey scored on a backhand shot after finding a loose puck in the slot. The goal ended the Ice's 0-for-29 stretch on their power-play.

Oil Kings goalie Cam Lanigan made his first WHL start and earned the win with 25 saves.

Nathan Lieuwen made 13 saves for Kootenay (2-3-2).
