Brendan Shinnimin scores with under two minutes left as Americans edge Silvertips 5-4

EVERETT, Wash. - Brendan Shinnimin scored with 1:58 remaining to break a 4-4 tie as the Tri-City Americans defeated the Everett Silvertips 5-4 in WHL action on Friday night.

Shinnimin's goal finished off a wild third period that saw six goals scored and the lead change three times.

Taylor Procyshen, Jason Reese, Mitch Fadden and Jarrett Toll had the other goals for Tri-City (45-16-0-3), which overcame an 11-3 power-play advantage in favour of Everett to win its seventh straight.

Kellan Tochkin scored twice and Taylor Ellington and Shane Harper also scored for Everett, which scored all four of its goals on the power play.

Americans goalie Chet Pickard made 28 saves, while Kent Simpson stopped 27 shots for the Silvertips (25-30-7-2), which lost its fourth straight.
