KENNEWICK, Wash. - After two scoreless periods, Brady Brassart and Blake Gal scored two quick goals for Spokane as the Chiefs held on to a 2-1 victory over the Tri-City Americans on Saturday night.
James Reid finished with 32 saves for the Chiefs (38-20-4). Spokane has won seven straight.
Brett Plouffe had the lone goal and Alex Pechurskiy had 22 saves for the Americans (41-17-3).
Tri-City has seen their U.S. Division lead go from 12 points to just three in a month's time.
The Americans put an end to Kyle Beach's 12-game point streak, which included 17 goals and 25 points.
