Brandon Wheat Kings push Medicine Hat to brink with 6-1 thumping @NHLdotcom

BRANDON, Man. - The Brandon Wheat Kings have the Medicine Hat Tigers on the ropes.

Brayden Schenn, Scott Glennie, Colby Robak and Andrew Clark scored a goal and an assist each as Brandon dumped the Tigers 6-1 in the Western Hockey League on Wednesday night to take a 3-0 lead in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal.

Aaron Lewadniuk and Matt Calvert also scored for the Wheat Kings, who have a chance to wrap up the series when they host Game 4 on Friday.

Colton Grant replied for the Tigers.

Brandon netminder Andrew Hayes made 19 saves, while Ryan Holfeld allowed three goals on seven shots for Medicine Hat before being pulled seven minutes into the opening period. He was replaced by Tyler Bunz, who stopped 37 of 40 shots the rest of the way.
