Brampton Battalion clinch Central Divison with 5-0 win over Barrie @NHLdotcom

BRAMPTON, Ont. - The Brampton Battalion clinched the Central Division for the third time in their ten-season history with a 5-0 win over Barrie, in OHL action Friday night.

Graham McNabb scored twice and rookie Matt Duchene contributed a goal and two assists for the Battalion.

After a first period that failed to produce a goal, Brampton struck on the power play 3:25 into the second with a goal from McNabb. McNabb also rounded out the scoring with another power play marker in the dying seconds of the period.

Luke Lynes and Cory Emmerton also scored for Brampton (41-22-1-3) who will enter the OHL playoffs as the second seed in the Eastern Conference.

Barrie (28-33-3-3) has clinched a post-season berth but their seed has yet to be determined.

Bryan Pitton made 17 saves for the shutout, while Peter Di Salvo turned aside 34 of 39 shots.
