Blue Jackets add Gibbons on two-way contract @NHLdotcom

Forward Brian Gibbons has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets, the team announced Friday.

Gibbons had five goals and 17 points in 41 games for the Pittsburgh Penguins as a rookie in 2013-14. The 26-year-old spent some time on Sidney Crosby's line after a knee injury ended Pascal Dupuis' season.

The forward had two goals and three points in eight Stanley Cup Playoff games for the Penguins. The goals came less than a minute apart in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference First Round series against the Blue Jackets.

Gibbons has 30 goals and 90 points in 168 regular-season games in the American Hockey League, which came after scoring 66 goals and 164 points in four seasons at Boston College.
