Blades' Dalton Thrower named Canadian Hockey League's Player of the Week @NHLdotcom

TORONTO - Saskatoon Blades defenceman Dalton Thrower was named the Canadian Hockey League's Player of the Week on Tuesday after scoring 11 points in four games.

Thrower had three goals and eight assists between Dec. 27 and Jan. 1.

Beau Schmitz of the Plymouth Whalers and Brandon Hynes of the Victoriaville Tigres were also considered for the award.

Jacob Gervais-Chouinard of the Rimouski Oceanic was named the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week.

Gervais-Chouinard had two wins in the past week, including a shutout victory. He had a goals-against-average of 1.44 and save percentage of .951 in those two games.

Franky Palazzese of the Kitchener Rangers and Chris Driedger of the Calgary Hitmen were runners-up for goaltender of the week honours.
