Blackhawks send Byfuglien to Thrashers

ATLANTA (AP) -The Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks have dealt playoff star Dustin Byfuglien along with defenseman Brent Sopel and forward Ben Eager to the Atlanta Thrashers for a package of draft picks and players.

Chicago gets a first (24th overall) and second-round pick in this week's NHL draft as well as forwards Marty Reasoner, Joey Crabb and Jeremy Morin.

Atlanta also receives prospect Akim Aliu in the deal that became official early Thursday morning.

The Thrashers made a another deal with San Jose, sending dealt defenseman Mike Vernace, forward Brett Sterling and a seventh-round draft choice to the Sharks for future considerations.
