Barrie Colts overcome 46 saves from Fotinos, beat Niagara IceDogs 2-1

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Barrie Colts overcame a 46-save performance from Alex Fotinos and beat the Niagara IceDogs 2-1 in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday night.

Fotinos made 16 stops in the first period and 23 in the third in just his eighth OHL game.

Freddie Hamilton scored the game-winner for Niagara (24-13-3) midway through the third period on a wrist shot from the left face-off circle.

Andrew Agozzino added a highlight-reel short-handed goal, his team-leading 22nd goal of the season, for the IceDogs.

Rookie Aaron Ekblad was the lone Colt to solve Mark Visentin who was strong in his own right for Niagara making 26 saves.

Ekblad scored his eighth goal of the season on the power play early in the first period as Visentin shut the door over the final 54 minutes of regulation to pick up his 13th win of the season.

Barrie (22-16-3) went 1-for-7 on the power play.

Niagara was 0-for-4.
