Asselin's late goal stands as game winner in Oshawa's 3-2 win over Owen Sound

OWEN SOUND, Ont. - Patrick Asselin's 38th goal of the season with 4:34 left in regulation lifted the Oshawa Generals to a 3-2 win over the Owen Sound Attack on Wednesday night in the Ontario Hockey League.

Asselin's goal gave the Generals (36-14-2-4) their third straight win, allowing them to keep pace with the Belleville Bulls in the OHL East Division. Oshawa remained six points back of Belleville after the Bulls beat the Kingston Frontenacs 4-1.

Kory Nagy had a second-period short-handed goal and Dale Mitchell also scored to lead the Generals, who never trailed.

Joey Hishon scored a pair of power-play goals in a losing cause for the Attack (20-34-2-3), who are winless in eight.

Daryl Borden posted a sensational 43-save performance to earn the win for Oshawa.

Tyler Beskorowany was equally solid, turning aside 41 shots for Owen Sound.
