Andrew Hayes makes 25 saves as Wheat Kings shut out Pats 3-0

REGINA - Andrew Hayes made 25 saves Saturday as the Brandon Wheat Kings earned their first Western Hockey League win of the season, 3-0 over the Regina Pats.

Mark Schneider scored the only goal Brandon would need just 35 seconds into the game when he fired a wrist shot over Regina goalie Damien Ketlo.

Del Cowan and Paul Ciarelli, into an empty net, also scored for Brandon (1-1-0).

Ketlo stopped 32 shots for the pats (0-2-0).

Regina was without veterans Jordan Eberle, Colten Teubert and Matt Delahey, all of whom are away at NHL training camps.
