Americans move into first in U.S. division with 4-1 win over Rockets

KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Tri-City Americans moved into first place in the U.S. Division with a 4-1 win over the Kelowna Rockets in Western Hockey League action Tuesday.

Brooks Macek, Taylor Procyshen, Jarret Toll and Kruise Reddick scored for Tri-City (12-5-0-1), which moved two points ahead of the idle Spokane Chiefs and into the division lead. Cody Almond scored the lone goal for Kelowna (12-8-0-0).

Chet Pickard finished with 24 saves for the Americans.

Kris Lazaruk and Adam Brown combined for 19 saves for the Rockets.

The Americans took to the ice wearing black, yellow and white - the franchise's original colours from 1988.

The team changed to its current red, white and blue colours in 1992.
