PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Alexander Khokhlachev scored the decisive goal of the shootout to lead the Providence Bruins over the St. John's IceCaps 3-2 in American Hockey League action on Sunday.
Ryan Spooner scored a power-play goal in the second period for Providence (6-2-1), and David Pastmak found the back of the net at 10:16 of the third to tie the game.
Eric O'Dell and Will O'Neill scored for St. John's (3-5-4), which got both its goals on the power play.
Bruins goalie Malcolm Subban stopped 34 shots for the win. IceCaps netminder Peter Budaj made 39 saves in the losing effort.
