CALGARY - Alex Gogolev scored twice and set up another goal to lead the Calgary Hitmen to a 5-1 win over the Swift Current Broncos in Western Hockey League action Sunday.
Brady Brassart also had two goals for the Hitmen (2-4-1), who bounced back from a 5-0 loss against the Medicine Hat Tigers one night earlier. Brooks Macek also scored, while Jimmy Bubnick chipped in with three assists.
Ryon Moser scored the lone goal for the Broncos (4-6-1), who were playing their fourth game in five nights. Swift Current went 2-2 during the stretch, which included a convincing 9-3 triumph in Lethbridge over the Hurricanes on Saturday night.
The Hitmen went 2-for-2 with the man advantage and killed off all five power-play opportunities awarded to Swift Current.
Calgary netminder Chris Driedger stopped 28 of 29 shots to record his first win as a member of the Hitmen since being acquired from the Tri-City Americans in the off-season.
Swift Current goalie Jon Groenheyde made 22 saves.
