Alberga scores a hat trick to lead the Sting over the Majors 7-1 @NHLdotcom

SARNATH, India - Domenic Alberga scored three times to lead the Sarnia Sting over the visiting Mississauga St. Michael's Majors 7-1 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Alex Basso had two goals and an assist for the Sting (21-16-5), Connor Murphy had a goal and set up two more while Brett Thompson added a single goal and assist.

Eric Diodati scored the lone goal for the Majors (18-17-6).

JP Anderson made 18 saves for the win as Brandon Maxwell allowed five goals against on 11 shots before being pulled in the second period.

Spencer Martin came on in relief and stopped 11 of 13 shots faced.

Sarnia went 1 for 2 on the power play while Mississauga failed to score on three opportunities with the man advantage.
