WINDSOR, Ont. - On a night that marked the two-year anniversary of the death of team captain Mickey Renaud, Adam Henrique scored his 32nd and 33rd goals of the season and Philipp Grubauer made 28 saves as the Windsor Spitfires defeated the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors 5-1 in Ontario Hockey League play Thursday.
Renaud collapsed and died at his home in Tecumseh, Ont., on Feb. 18, 2008, as a result of a rare heart condition.
Prior to the start of the game the Spitfires paid tribute to Renaud with a video presentation.
The Western Conference-leading Spitfires (45-9-5) led 2-1 after the first period on goals by Justin Shugg and Kenny Ryan, while the Majors' Jordan Mayer replied with his 25th goal of the season.
Windsor scored three unanswered goals in the game's final two periods, including Henrique's pair and another by Greg Nemisz.
Taylor Hall, the top-rated prospect for the 2010 NHL Draft, chipped in with three assists while Ryan Ellis added two of his own.
Chris Carozzi was stellar in making 50 saves in a losing effort for the Majors (37-14-6).
