Slow start by Crosby, coaching change among obstacles

It wasn't easy, but the Pittsburgh Penguins are heading back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

A coaching change and an early season slump for Sidney Crosby made for a difficult first half for the Penguins, but with a 5-0 win against the New York Islanders on Saturday, they clinched a berth for the 10th straight season.

NEW YORK -- Matt Murray picked a pretty good time for his first NHL shutout.

Murray made 24 saves in a 5-0 win against the New York Islanders at Barclays Center on Saturday to help the Penguins clinch a berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the 10th straight season.

NEW YORK -- Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury has been diagnosed with a concussion.

Fleury did not travel with the Penguins, who play the New York Islanders on Saturday (1 p.m. ET; SN360, ROOT, MSG+, NHL.TV).

Season series: The Pittsburgh Penguins have won two of the first three games against the New York Islanders this season, including a 2-1 shootout win March 15. Penguins defenseman Kris Letang scored in the shootout after forward Chris Kunitz and Islanders forward Kyle Okposo scored in regulation.
