SUNRISE, Fla. -- The Florida Panthers didn't get to hand out their "Spacey in Space" hoodie Saturday because they lost to the Detroit Red Wings, but the man behind the craze was a big presence at BB&T Center.

The Panthers handed out 10,000 Kevin Spacey cut-out faces on sticks, and the Oscar-winning actor got a standing ovation when he revealed his face behind one on the BB&T Center videoboard during a second-period stoppage.

Spacey, who was shown a few more times during Florida's 5-3 loss, visited the Panthers locker room after the game.

Datsyuk sparks Red Wings to victory

Veteran forward scores twice against Panthers, Detroit rallies from down two goals

SUNRISE, Fla. -- The Detroit Red Wings gained momentum with Pavel Datsyuk's power-play goal at the end of the second period and carried it to a 5-3 victory against the Florida Panthers at BB&T Center on Saturday.

Luke Glendening scored the game-winning goal at 8:39 of the third period.

The Red Wings trailed 3-1 before Datsyuk scored with 10.1 seconds left in the second.

At 8:39 of the third period in the Red Wings/Panthers game, video review supported the referee's call on the ice that Luke Glendening's stick was at or below the height of the crossbar when he deflected the puck into the Florida net. According to Rule 38.4 (vi) "The determining factor is where the puck makes contact with the stick in relation to the crossbar. If the puck makes contact with the portion of the stick that is at or below the level of the crossbar and enters the goal, this goal shall be allowed." Good goal Detroit.

SUNRISE, Fla. - Veteran defenseman Niklas Kronwall is expected to be back in the lineup Saturday when the Detroit Red Wings face the Florida Panthers at BB&T Center.

Kronwall has missed three games because of a sprained knee, but Red Wings general manager Ken Holland told MLive.com on Saturday he expected Kronwall to play against Florida.
