Situation Room: Smith's goal stands after review

3/1/16: The Jets challenge that the Panthers were offside on Reilly Smith's goal and, after a review, the goal stands

  • 01:10 •

At 13:48 of the first period in the Panthers/Jets game, Winnipeg requested a Coach's Challenge to review whether Florida was off-side prior to Reilly Smith's goal.

A technical problem at ice level required the Situation Room to rule on the play. After reviewing all available replays, the Situation Room was not conclusive in determining whether Florida was off-side prior to the goal. According to Rule 78.7, "If a review is not conclusive and/or there is any doubt whatsoever as to whether the call on the ice was correct, the On-Ice Official(s) will be instructed to confirm their original call."
